17 days italy/switzerland

I am flying in to Rome and have 17 days to travel in italy and switzerland before heading to munich. anyone have some ideas/things that are a must.
I like the outdoors and would really like to to do dayhikes so any recomendations for both italy/switzerland of good hikes to do would be awesome.

at the moment i am thinking
3 days rome
1 day in sienna
2 days in cinque terre
2 days venice
2 days dolomites

6 days in switzerland. thoughts?

When you say "2 days" are you spending three nights? We find it better if you state your time in nights because then it is a clear picture of how much time you actually have in the location to enjoy it. Transit times can be long; for example, it will take most of a day to go to Venezia from the Cinque Terre, so if you only spend 2 nights, you will not have much time to enjoy.

I would not go anywhere in the Dolomites for less than 3 nights. Mountain weather is too fickle. If you only spend two nights and have one day and it rains that day, you won't be too happy. And the hiking is fabulous (depending on exactly where you choose to stay.)

Let us know the # of nights, please?

Much better use of time. I love Siena. You won't regret it. Not sure about Lake Como as a day trip. Honestly, to me, it's heaven on earth. If you plan on going back, maybe you could take a look. I stayed in Varenna. It was pretty much perfect.

Accommodations:
Rome - recommend airbnb near the Pantheon; rooftop place if you don't mind stairs (like 6 flights of steep stone stairs)
Siena - Alma Domus (Monastery) - real cappuccino for breakfast! :)
CT Manarola - La Torreta, request a view, this is a special place and a bit pricey but so worth it!
Lake Como - Hotel Villa Cipressi or Hotel Olivedo
