17 day itinerary- suggestions for things to do, eat, transport etc.

Hi all, my boyfriend and I are travelling to Italy in September for 17 days. We only have a short flight to get there so hopefully can get started sightseeing from the word go. Our itinerary is as follows: fly into Pisa late, stay one night, see the leaning tower the next morning 2 nights in Cinque Terre (Vernazza) 3 nights in Florence (Duomo area) 3 nights in Rome (Trastevere) early train to naples and boat to Ischia 2 nights in Ischia (accomodation or location not yet decided. any suggestions?) 3 nights in Positano (central)
2 nights in Sorrento (beside Piazza Tasso). We have booked all of our accomodation except for Ischia where we have't decided where to base ourselves. I know this includes lots of places and that we'll probably return lots of times but at the moment we are looking for suggestions for things that people have done while in any of the above places that really made their trip including places to eat, day trips, tours, parks, wine tastings, horse riding... also looking for idea's for relaxing days e.g. renting boats so contact details and pricing for this would be amazing in le cinque terre and on the amalfi absolutely... everything and anything especially things that were not in the guidebooks. Thanks a million :)

CT is best in the early mornings and in the evenings (leisurely dinners with lots of wine). The nicest beach I saw (sand as opposed to pebbles at the others) was a Monterosso. Take the ferry from one end of the CT to the other in the afternoon. The views of the towns from the sea, with the sun behind you, are the BEST. Florence - just find a place to stand on the Santa Trinita bridge (the one "below" the Ponte Vecchio) and watch the lights go on as it gets dark. Take the bus up to Fiesole for a great view of Florence from above, and a quaint place to wander for an hour or two. Book in advance if you want to visit the Academia and/or the Uffizi. For sculpture, the Bargello is excellent.

Hi Jean, While in the Napoli area, one place you might want to see is Pompei. Check out Unesco's World Heritage List at
http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/ You could find a couple of suggestions in there, Ciao !
