Planning on southern Italy 13 tour June 10-22, 2023. Wanting advice on where to go for 3 days after tour ends before departing from Rome?

Since the tour ends in Naples, stick around and make a visit to Herculaneum, another ancient Roman town buried in the same eruption that buried Pompeii. It’s a different experience, and well worth seeing, if you’re into ancient sites, and much of this one is surprisingly well preserved.

Then there are opportunities to climb up Mt. Vesuvius on foot. I haven’t done it myself, but it’s there.

Any chance you’d be going back to Rome for a day or two before your departure ? Or bypass Rome for Orvieto farther north, spend a night or two up in Orvieto, then back to Rome for a night or two before departing.

Thank you for your reply! Yes we do have some time to go back to Rome area. I have thought of Orvieto as a possible place to stay for a bit. I will check further into it as it looks to be such a quick train trip from there to Rome.
Thanks again!
