Family of four

We are looking at one week for next summer after a week in Paris. Kids are 16/13.

I have my heart set on Almafi Coast but think a week is too much. Has anyone every done the walking tours? Girosole was one company.

Very overwhelmed with trying to plan. Besides Rome, what other areas would you suggest for family?

Thanks!

One week in the gulf of Naples area (Amalfi Coast) too much? Are you kidding me?
Each of the following will easily occupy most or all of a day:
Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, etc)
Sorrento
Capri island
Pompeii and Herculaneum
Paestum
Naples
Ischia and/or Procida
Vesuvius
Cilento
The closest airport is NAP. Easyjet, Transavia and AirFrance fly between Paris (CDG or ORY) to NAP.
However, you won't have a week, because your flight back home might be out of Rome, in which case you need to go to Rome at least a day earlier to catch the morning flight.

Hi, I spent three days on Amalfi Coast this year, and I would have loved to spend a week! It`s such a beautiful place. I stayed in Sorrento at this wonderful b&b , "Villa Monica B&B". I loved everything about it, including its stunning views! ... Hope you have a great planning stage!

You might consider splitting your stay between Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento is more convenient for trips to Pompeii, Ercolano, Vesuvius, Napoli and Capri; Amalfi Coast gives you quicker access to the towns there, as well as Paestum.

Hi,
We have visited the Amalfi Coast with kids twice. Once we stayed at Hotel Cetus in Cetara the southern end and the second time in Praiano at Hotel Margherita for 4 nights each. Not enough time. We never even made it to Capri (I have been on my own.)

If you are fit, I would suggest the Path of the Gods for a hike you will never forget and hiring a boat which we did out of the little beach in Praiano for a 3 hour cruise along the coast. Spectacular! It is probably my kids' favorite part of Italy. (now in their 20s)
