La Spezia train

Yes, La Spezia Centrale is the main station for all trains. Rick's book only lists La Spezia hotels as a last resort, if you can't get a room in one of the five towns of the Cinque Terre. One such listing in a small guesthouse is www.trefre.it.

If you do get a room in another town, then also get train schedules all the way to that town; La Spezia is not the usual change point when you come from France. How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it.

Are you staying in La Spezia to visit the Cinque Terre, or is this an intermediate transit point to somewhere else?

Just an overnight stay. We will pick up a rentalcar and drive to Greve in Chianta. Anyone have info on the Albergo Venezia hotel?

Hotel Firenze e Continentale La Spezia is just down the street from the train station. Nice hotel but I had a refurbished room.
