We would like to take the Bernina Express train ride but are very prone to
motion sickness on mountain roads. We don't know if we would have the
same problem on this train ride since it is very slow with many curves, circles,
and switchbacks. Does anyone know if this would be a problem?
Mary,
It's very difficult to say how the motion of the Bernina Express will affect others. The train moves relatively slowly in some parts, and I didn't have any issues at all. If you think that might be a problem, you could pack along some Dramamine or similar.
Good luck!
Why don't you pick up a few of those little airsickness bags in the seatback pockets on the flight over. :)
Seriously, it is impossible for anyone here to know your sensitivity to motion sickness. My wife won't go anywhere near a rollercoaster for fear of drenching the rest of the riders. But she has no problem with Swiss cogwheel trains.
Two of us here don't remember problems on that route, since the train is relatively slow and must make wider turns than a car or bus.
