I am trying to find the train route and schedule for the train from Milan to Nice in May, but cannot find it on Trenitalia website. Rail europe gives me a price, but no route or timetable. Does anyone know where I can find this information out.

Try this site - it's German but has all the routes - start with Milano Centrale and end with Nice ville

Hi lindalu_g. 95% of this run is in Italy. To see schedules for that portion on Trenitalia, use the cities of Milano and Ventimiglia. In Ventimiglia, you transfer to a French train for the short run to Nice. A couple of notes:
- I see on Trenitalia that the last portion of the trip in Italy is by Autobus; believe this is normally by train, perhaps there is a track upgrade project going on.
- I would suggest you wait and buy this ticket in Italy to retain flexibility, since the savings from buying in advance are negligible. Enjoy your trip!

Since trains between Ventimiglia and Nice are operated by SNCF (French National Rail), Trenitalia doesn't sell tickets online for that leg. Buy your ticket when you get to Ventimiglia.
