Hello! My husband and I are taking our first trip to Italy(and Europe for that matter) and our first stop is Varenna. I am nervous about finding my way from the Malpensa airport to Varenna and was wondering if someone has any good turn-by-turn directions to share starting from clearing customs? We will be arriving on a Saturday at around 1:30.

The Malpensa express does not goto Milano Centale station but to the Milano Cadorna station. You would need to take the subway or a cab from the Cadorna station to the Centale station to get a train to Varenna. Best bet is the bus from airport to Milano Centrale.
The "Malpensa Express" train service runs to Stazione Cadorna.
The "Malpensa Shuttle" coach service runs every 20 minutes (fewer trips early and late) from 4.30 until 00.15, to Milan Central Station at the Piazza Luigi di Savoia
