I know there used to be an 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning mass in San Marco - I think Rick's book mentions it - but the Basilica website does not. Is there an 11:00 a.m. service? If not, I think we will try for Vespers at 6:30 p.m. Any suggestions would be welcome. We have been to San Marco before and don't need to see the whole thing, so just attending a service would be enough, and a new experience. (My son-in-law didn't like it that much and calls it "Frankenchurch" because it is stitched together from random architectural pieces the Venetians collected on their conquests/excursions!)
Hi jsc,
I found this info on their web site http://www.basilicasanmarco.it/calendario-liturgico/orari-messe/?lang=en
Since you also mentioned Vespers - "Celebration of Vespers and Madonna Nicopeia procession with the chant of the litanies: 05:30 p.m."
You don't mention when you are visiting. But, check out their "suspension of tourist page for 2019" in case the closing prohibits your visit.
