Livorno, Italy

Has anyone ever spent any time there? I know that it doesn't particularly cater to "tourists" but I am wondering if it is a nice area to live. I understand that it is a port town? So I assume most people only see it on their way from the boat to Florence.

I have a job opportunity there and I'm like some honest opinions if anyone has any.

Thanks!

Hi Gwen,

I visited Livorno a couple of times and you're right it's not a tourist town although it is a cruise ship destination. Cruise ship passengers usualy dont visit Livorno, they tend to venture off on excursions. As I recall there wasn't much to do in Livorno and it wasn't on my list of favorite places to visit again.
