Salzburg to Hallstatt

Doug, I'm not sure about Buses, but you can get there by train in a few hours (always one change at Attnang-Pucheim). When you arrive at the unmanned Hallstatt station, you'll be across the lake from the town, but there's a regular boat service using Stefanie which runs about every half hour. Arriving by train provides some spectacular views of the town nestled against the mountain. Happy travels!
