Hi...I'll be landing in Venice on Tues. April 23rd around 1:30pm. I'm staying in Dorsoduro at Pensione Accadema Villa Mirage, Fondamenta Bollani. I've read that Water Taxi's are quite expensive, but also a lovely way to get from the airport for a weary traveler. Would you recomend another way, but that wouldn't entail too much walking to my Hotel. This is my first trip to Venice Thanks,
SL
Here's your hotel's website page about this subject: http://www.pensioneaccademia.it/comeRaggiungerci.htm As you can see, you can take a bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma, then the vaporetto to the Accademia stop. Or, you can take the Alilaguna boat to the Zattere stop, which is a further walk to your hotel than the Accademia stop ued by the vaporetto. Do you have Rick Steves Venice or Rick Steves Italy? He has details of all these methods. However you plan to get to the hotel, do click on "Where We Are" on that page, then click on the map. It will zoom in and a red path will show exactly how you have to walk from the vaporetto stop to your hotel. Print this out by right clicking on it and selecting "print," then take it with you. This is very important so you won't get lost (you'll see what I mean once you get there, but it will then be too late to print it out, so do it now!).
Since I am cheap, I would take the bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma, then change to the No 1 vaporetto to Accademia, then just a short walk to the hotel. That will cost 12 euro, unless you are going to buy a multiday pass, then you can add an airport bus transfer on to that. You can also take the alilaguna boat from the airport to Zattere. That is 15 euro, but you have a bit of a walk to your hotel.
