10 Days Florence/Tuscany

My husband and I will be traveling to Florence/Tuscany in late April. We are looking for recommendations for a quiet upscale boutique hotel that is centrally located in Florence for 4 or 5 nights. In addition, which Tuscan cities are not to be missed and where to stay in those towns?
Thank you.

We LOVED Bernini Palace Hotel, not cheap, but got a good discount by having AAA book it for us. Amazing breakfast and location - easy walk to EVERYTHING. IF you're not renting a car, we took 2 wonderful tours into different Tuscany areas with WALKABOUT FLORENCE. We did their BEST OF TUSCANY TOUR and CHIANI WINE & FOOD SAFARI. The tour was great, authentic organic meals on Tuscan Farms, wines, great towns. Lots of info given out by the tour director. You can read reviews on TripAdvisor, but if you book, go to the WALKABOUT FLORENCE website and book directly thru them. Florence is our favorite European city.

Last month we spent three nights at Milu Hotel on Via de Tornabuoni. The hotel has contemporary decor, and the staff is friendly. It is a short walk from Santa Maria Novella station and most major attractions. In the past, we stayed several night at Firenze Number Nine Hotel near San Lorenzo on Via dei Conti. It is also a lovely property.
