1 week in Montegrotto Terme PD, Italy

Hi

So after I finish a week in Tropea, I am staying at Hotel Mioni Royal San for my 2nd week. I will be there for a week. Since the price of the airline ticket is about the same price of the train. I am going to fly into Marco Polo airport around 2 pm. The hotel shuttle will pick me up. What are some good day trips or places to visit? I know Venice is a short ride on the train. I would like to visit the Dolomites mtns. Any other places to see?

Padua, Vicenza, Ferrara, Bologna. Ravenna would require too much time on trains. The practicality of the other trips will depend on how much of a hassle it is for you to get to the train station (which appears not to be in Montegrotto Terme itself) and how convenient the transfers are, when required.

The part of the Dolomites I'm familiar with (near Bolzano) would be very difficult as a day-trip. The quickest morning train takes 3 hr. 10 min. just to reach Bolzano, then you must connect to the bus going up into the mountains, so it would be more than an 8-hour round-trip. With all the other options (again, assuming you can get to the train station easily), I wouldn't be willing to spend so much time in transit for a very few hours in the mountains.
