1 Week Amalfi Coast Itinerary with Kids

Ok, now that we've got our transportation and accommodation decisions made and (mostly) booked.. Onto the itinerary! We'll be in the Amalfi Coast area - staying in Agerola for a week with our kids (7&9). I don't like to make a very detailed itinerary to leave room for relaxing and give us some flexibility for places we might want to spend more time in, etc. However, I do like to go in with a rough idea of places we want to see. Here is what I'm thinking (below). I would definitely appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Am I missing something that is worth doing or seeing (with kids)? I didn't include a trip to Capri as I've read that it is both worth it and not worth it.. It's not on my bucket list, so I can go either way on it, I suppose. I should add, we'll be traveling in early June.

Day 1: Arrival/travel day (Wednesday)
Day 2: Amalfi, Atrani – explore, eat, and beach
Day 3: Path of Gods to Positano, hike early in the day since we are staying close, have lunch and afternoon in Positano – ferry to Amalfi and back by bus?

Day 4: OPEN (Saturday) Should we attempt Capri?
Day 5: Explore another coastal town/beach + eat day (maybe back to Positano – Fornillo or Arienzo Beach)
Day 6: Pompeii and Sorrento for dinner and walk around town
Day 7: Explore another coastal town/beach + eat day (maybe to Ravello – visit Villa Cimbrone?)
Day 8: Travel day to Tuscany (Wednesday)

Thanks much in advance!

Can you afford a car and driver to get to Pompeii? You may be returning from Sorrento too late for busses, which terminate in Amalfi and require a change to go farther east.

Capri may be too pedestrianized for 7/9 year olds. It was exhausting for adults! Capri is always crowded but why go on the weekend if you don’t have to?

Thanks! I’m actually thinking of driving to Pompeii / Sorrento since we’ll have a rental. I’m thinking we won’t use it for some days (our apartment has parking) but for this trip, we probably should...?

Sorrento can have long lines for parking garages, and Pompeii has limited parking. There are only two lanes (one each direction) through Positano, and average speed can be under 10 MPH in high season, May to September. Do you know about ZTL and IDP in Italy?

The AC is not an ideal location for daytrips. You have to plan carefully. BTW, Ravello has no beach. But it’s beautiful.

Thanks for the feedback; appreciate it a lot! I’m anticipating some pains re: traveling/logistics. So yes, that’s exactly why I’m trying to do get some good intel beforehand. We’re definitely aware of the ZTL and both have IDPs (though I don’t plan to do any driving myself ;)). If I plug in our home base in Google Maps to Sorrento, it routes us to go aroundo the back way, not through the coast. Hopefully that’s a better option...?
