1 night near FCO

We are leaving out of FCO back to the US and looking for 1 night accommodations hopefully with a pool and budget friendly transportation to airport. We would like to be near restaurants and shops and generally a nice area for a family of 9. I had seen a post somewhere from a gentleman who said they stayed on the other side of the river, had an easy commute departure day and it was in a beautiful Italian village with lots of restaurants. Any idea what area this might be?

What time is your flight? And is it a connecting flight or direct flight to the US??? Budget friendly transportation, pool, near restaurants and shops are not terms normally associated with staying near the airport.

It’s an afternoon flight so hoping to find someplace nearby to hang for a day and enjoy our last day in Italy. Doesn’t have to be right at the airport. Maybe just an easy cab ride away

I’m willing to bet the previous poster meant Trastevere.
However Trastevere is not a village, it’s a district of Rome on the other side of the Tiber.

If not Trastevere, maybe it was Lido Di Ostia. Lido di Ostia is another district of the city of Rome, on the coast, across the Tiber river also, compared to the airport.

Hi mom7967,

"Almost like a village on the other side of the Tiber, on the opposite side to the one that houses the palaces of power, Trastevere is one of the most beautiful and fascinating districts."

It sounds like Trastevere, Rome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v75H2alRIW4 (Part of the "Neighborhood Series" they've done.)
