Does anyone have a recommendation for how best to do an inexpensive, single-day visit to the Ferrari museum in Marinello and the relatively close Lamborghini museum? (I know, "inexpensive" is subjective -- say, significantly less than 100 Euro per person, and there are 4 of us.) This would be in early June, and probably on a Friday, or possibly Thursday. We would be taking a train or bus (whatever's best) from Florence in the morning and return that eve. Given how close together those museums are, we're hoping to combine both in one day without a lot of transfers or difficulties. We're not such avid fans that we want to spend the approx. 250 Euros per person for a special tour I've found that includes those as well as some others -- just Ferrari and Lamborghini will be plenty. And while I'd love to visit the factories, cost and time pretty much nix that.
Any suggestions for the most efficient and reasonable way to do this without renting a car? Thanks!
We’ve just made arrangements for these tours on behalf of some family members who are traveling with us around the same time (large family group based in Bologna- not everyone is going on all activities).
For the Ferrari museum in Marinello - Ferrari runs a shuttle from the train station in Modena. It’s schedule is somewhat limited (departures every 45 mins, I think), which might make packing a lot into that day difficult. Information is on their website and you can prebuy tickets. We ended up hiring a private driver for the Lamborghini factory and are combining it with other things, so I can’t help with public transportation there. You do need a reservation for that tour.
Thanks HK. I considered a private driver also, but figured cost would be prohibitive. I am postponing any museum reservations until I can nail down basic questions of feasibility. I think Ferrari also recommends getting a ticket in advance, but I don't know how critical that is at either location.
Sounds like your group will have fun!
I don't think you can get to both in one day with public transportation - they're both far out in the suburbs with limited bus service. Also, there are two Ferrari museums. If tours like https://www.motorstars.org/en are too expensive, then renting a car is probably your only option.
Thanks Robert. We were only going to do the "main" Ferrari museum in Marinello, not the Enzo museum. Tours like the one through the website you listed are more than we want to do and pay. I'll keep looking and hoping!
