We have a Mediterranean cruise in July but we're getting there one day early to get our bearings. We have to go back to Fiumicino airport the next day to catch a shuttle to Civitavecchia. My questions are: Do we stay near the airport and is there anything to see around there? How far is it from the attractions in Rome? Is it so remote that we should stay in the city and then take a taxi or train back to the airport? Also, any hotel ideas for this area? I would appreciate any help. Thank you!!!
