1 day in Naples and 3 days along the Amalfi coast

Hi everyone,

I will be spending 2 days in Naples and 3 days after that along the Amalfi coast (staying in Tovere) during the last week of December. I am visiting Pompeii on one of the 2 days in Naples. Could you suggest a possible itinerary for the remaining day in Naples and 3 days along the coast? My picks, as of now are Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. Considering it's the week after Christmas, I am guessing most places will be closed? However, are there few restaurants and shops that will still be open in the mornings?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Sriporna

For Napoli, I loved the self-guided tour in Rick's books covering all the best sights, including fabulous Archeo museum. He provides a detailed 3-part walking tour that is great. Don't forget to eat sfogliatella!

The Archeological Museum in Naples is a natural bookend to your visit to Pompeii. All the best stuff from Pompeii lives there. I would go the day after. Check their website for hours.

Normally I would choose Positano to stay for your 3 nights over the other towns but given it will be late Dec (very much out of season) I think Sorrento is a better option. If you get foggy/overcast or similar weather where you cannot see much on a given day you will have more to do in Sorrento and this much larger town would be less subject to seasonal closures than the others.
You can easily day trip to the other towns on nice weather days, in winter I am not sure if you need more than 1 full day to see all 3. With 3 nights that usually means only 2 full days so
1 day: Positano, Amalfi and Ravello
1 day: explore Sorrento
if you get 2 nice days of warmish weather you might want to do Amalfi/Ravello as one day and then split half the other day in Positano and Sorrento.
I would use the SITA bus for all travels from Sorrento to the other towns and back, will be nice and not crowded.
