Where to stay in the CT? Hotels recommended please!

Four of us will be traveling to the CT in mid-October for 4 nights after the end of a RS tour.
Does anyone have any current recommendations for a hotel? We will be looking for 2 rooms and we would prefer to book directly with the hotel vs. a booking site. An outside terrace, balcony would be ideal; or at least a gathering place (lobby or public terrace) for us to catch up together. We aren't looking for "fancy" - clean, comfortable and large enough for husbands of 6' to move about!
I appreciate your insights!

I recommend Aria del Mare in Manarola. It has everything you want and my husband of 6-2 could move about just fine. It is a smaller place (5-7 rooms?) overlooking the sea and Manarola. We had a large terrace. Relatively inexpensive and clean. We booked directly with the owner. We had dinner just down the "street" at Billy's and highly recommend.

We loved Porto Roca in Monterosso, italy. The view is awesome and the restaurant is excellent.

Another vote for Hotel Porto Roca in Monterosso. It sits on a bluff overlooking the sea, private beach access. Wonderful dining room.
Quiet location away from train noises.

We stayed in Monterosso at Hotel Margherita, which had a large balcony and some outdoor seating (Table/Chairs) in a front area of the Hotel which sound like what your looking for. They also had a decent breakfast and it was right in town center and a easy walk from/to the train station, to restaurants, shops and the beach. There are good pictures of the seating area on TripAdvisor.

We stayed 3 nights at Casa Cato in Vernazza just before the pandemic and were very happy. The views can't be beat from the terrace and the clean, updated rooms, and the location above the bustle of the main street is very convenient. There is a short climb from the station to get there, which isn't surprising because the path is also the start of the Vernazza-Corniglia trail! Lorena and Lisa provided a good, filling breakfast every morning, with a nice mix of local ingredients and of course cappuccino.
