We are staying Positano, Italy mid May and want to stay at a hotel with a private balcony, beautiful view (don't they all) and nice accommodations.

We stayed at villa la Tartania, a lovely B&B, great view, immaculate, steps from church,private balcony. You also might post this question on the Italy section, this section is really for reviews of places people have been to already. Good luck.

A great mid-priced place with beautiful grounds and stunning views is Hotel Villa Bellavista (beautiful view in Italian). It is owned by a nice family who will go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is just outside the city but there is transportation. You'll feel like you've landed in an Italian paradise. www.villabellavista.it/index.php?lang=en All but 4 rooms have a balcony. Be sure to request one with a balcony and view when booking. There is a bus stop 5 minutes away but you can also use the free hotel boat to explore gorgeous sites. They serve breakfast and dinner on the terrace. The food is good and you can't beat the view. The rooms are big and comfy and in pretty colors.

I'd recommend Residenza La Tavalozza- just a couple of doors down from La Sirenuse with the same lovely views. You can find more information in the Rick Steves guidebook.

In 2013 we stayed at Pensione Florida Residence. Fantastic views, great price including parking. Breakfast is ok. Will stay there again.
