We loved Hotel “Il Bargellino” in Florence. This is a Rick Steves recommended hotel. We received a discount mentioning Rick Steves. I reserved early because we were to spend 15 nights between two cruises. Our stay in Florence turned out to be the best part of our long trip because returning to the “Il Bargellino” after a day of sight seeing was like returning home. While all ten rooms can use the marvelous terrace, our room opened directly onto the terrace as I had asked. We had a refrigerator and a coffee maker. We shopped for simple food and ate all our breakfasts outside on the terrace. Often we would also fix a cheese and salami sandwich with antipasto and wine and eat our supper on the terrace. Our room was very clean and the furniture fun. Pino and Carmel were very helpful and friendly and kind. We were very happy. I notice that many people are also happy, so reserve your room early.
