WE are going to Cinqua Terra in a few weeks

WE are traveling to Cinqua Terra with our daughter who is studying abroad in Florence. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Pasquale in Mare Monterosso ? Any recommendations . They have three of us in a room and I am afraid it might be very crowded. Any other recommendations for Cinque Terra?

Hi Jill - HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hotel Pasquale in Monterosso (Cinque Terre). We stayed there last July, and both the facility, itself, and the family who run it were wonderful. The view from rooms look right across/onto the beach in Old Town, and we found its proximity ideal for exploring Monterosso and also gaining quick access to the ferry boat (dock) to the other towns. While I wouldn't call the rooms "large" (by U.S. standards), ours was plenty big enough for the three of us; it had a well laid out floorplan, a decent sized bathroom with a normal size shower, etc. If anyone in your family is into hiking, the trail leading to Vernazza begins a very short distance from the hotel. The breakfasts are fantastic, and the family matriarch will see to any special dietary needs or cook up a custom dish upon request. Don't mean to sound like a shill for the place, but we had a fantastic four nights under their care, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else the next time we visit.

We were on a RS Tour that stayed in the Cinque Terra. Half of our tour stayed at the Hotel Villa Steno and the other half stayed at Hotel Pasqual. Both hotels are owned by the same family. Everyone raved about their rooms. We stayed in room 6 in the hotel Villa Steno. It was a large room and was set up to sleep 3 with a queen size bed and a double bed. The queen was actually two twins pushed together.

I have been to Europe on 6 occasions and I have never stayed in a better room. We had our own patio with a table and chairs under an olive tree and two lounge chairs. The view was spectacular. If that room is available and they allow you to switch, I would. It does require that you walk up a hill.

I also would not worry about staying in the Hotel Pasqual. Everyone on our tour loved their rooms. The only negative comment about the hotel was that some of the lite sleepers did hear the train in their room as the hotel is right next to the tracks.

Thanks for the reviews. My husband and I will be staying there in the first week of May.
Looking forward to this stay even more now that I have read additional reviews.
