Walkable Budget Hotel/B&B Palermo Old City Center Near Market-Eating too

Hello community,

I wil be spending a few days solo in Palermo after a month long respite stay in Castellammare de Golfo in October. I have never been to Palermo and am looking for a budget (50 - 100 eu) a night great hotel or b&b very centrally located to walk to any of the great markets, great walking neighborhoods to explore and some of the top historic sites but outdoor markest and exploring neighborhoods are my favorite things to do. Thank you for any recommendations you have.
Also wondering if I only have two days, what is the easiest and fastest way to get to a few sites that are beyond walking distance in the city-bus, taxi etc.? Alright, one more question, thank you for your advice, if you had only three exceptional restaurants/cafe/street food experiences to eat at in Palermo which would they be?

Thank you kindly for your help.

We enjoyed our stay in busy, edgy Palermo. We stayed at La Terrazza sul Centro. I'm sure its in your price range. It is a B & B in previous mansion well located for sight seeing. They have part of the building. There is a beautiful terrace with striking views. The breakfast was wonderful and served on the terrace. Our room with Juliet balcony was large and spotless. To get to the B & B you must go up several flights of marble stairs, no elevator that we saw. I would stay there again.

We stayed also stayed at La Terrazza sul Centro last month for a couple of nights before our RS Best of Sicily tour. I would also recommend. Very good location. Most of the staff speak English. I preferred it to our RS hotel in Palermo.

I would highly recommend both the Streaty evening food tour and Anti-Mafia tour.

On our first evening of our RS Sicily trip, we went on a tour of the amazing Palazzo Conte Federico by the charming Contessa. Although we did not stay there, I did notice there are rooms for rent at the Palazzo that seemed reasonably priced. I think it would be a fabulously unique experience to be able to stay in that historic place.
