Very nice hotel in Verona

Hello All,
I'm looking for suggestions for a very nice and well-located hotel in Verona. This is a trip (early October) for our 35th anniversary and we're happy to splurge. Budgeting $450 per night. Looking for something in a charming area that's great for walking to sites and to good, authentic/local restaurants. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Happy Anniversary! We liked the Giulietta e Romeo Hotel in Verona. It was very conveniently located.

Hi Allison, my favorite is Hotel Bologna which is a block from the Roman Arena. You can see it from Piazza Bra. They have an excellent breakfast, too.

hi! Hotel Giulietta e Romeo we stayed foe 5 days., in 2023. Very good website to use, english speaking! hotel Bologna might be good too. Make a day trip or overnight to Lago di Garda or Lake Garda!! you will thank me!! we go 2 times every year! Stay in the city of Desenzano on the S/W bottom of the lake. Hotel Vittorio, we love. or another across the tiny harbor Hotel Pirscafo or Park Hotel. Vittorio has lake facing rooms! so so many places to see! or Sirmione We always stay in the old city center for convenience! I can tell you or the locals are the best to ask about restaurants. i live in Bavaria Germany for 6.5 yrs. Ask questions ask away!! Thats all we do is travel now!! Happy 35th! We just had our 30th!!

Claudia: per your suggestion I tried re-posting in the Italy forum and the site won't let me. I received an error
message that said I can't re-post the same message. I even tried changing the language a bit. Oh, well. I have a
few great suggestions here and perhaps more will come in the next day or two. Thanks again to everyone for your help!

It's been 10 years since we stayed at the Hotel Giulietta e Romeo, so I didn't want to recommend it based on my dated experience. So I'm glad to see that it is still getting great reviews - currently TripAdvisor's No. 1 hotel in Verona.

We stayed at Hotel Bologna for 2 nights earlier this month. Could not have been happier. Walked to shops, walked to the opera at the arena and took a bus to Bardolino for a half day.
