Verona Recommendations

I’m ending a cruise in trieste mid June and thinking of staying in Verona instead of Venice.

Any hotel or apartments recommendations? Best area to stay in? I’m there 3 nights and would like to keep it under $150 a night.

Will take restaurant suggestions as well!!

Thank you !!

I stayed in Verona last September and loved it! I stayed in an AirBnB right outside the city walls and wished I'd stayed in the city center. It was only a short walk but next time I'd rather be amidst everything. I visited Caffe Borsari every morning for coffee and a fresh croissant, so good! I also enjoyed meals at Osteria al Duca and Ristorante Greppia. Not sure if this is something you're interested in, but the Verona Opera Festival will probably be happening in the arena while you're there. It's worth checking out. I loved Verona, have a wonderful trip!

In 2021, we stayed at the Hotel Milano and Spa. We paid 104 Euro per night, including breakfast and city tax. Mind you, this was in November, so the price may be different during more popular months. The rooms were small, but modern and well-equipped. There's a view of the arena from the rooftop. It was quite central, and we liked it a lot.

Based on the receptionist's suggestion, we ate at La Griglia. We liked it so much, we ate there a second time, and were greeted like old friends, taken to our "usual" table, and served our "usual" drinks. I definitely recommend it.
