Venice: 2026 Pricing at Hotel Ala versus Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo

I am planning my Venice Trip, which will be 3 nights starting Sunday May 24th 2026. After reading great reviews on both of these hotels, I priced availability and costs for a deluxe/superior room at both hotels. Breakfast was charged separately at Hotel Ala (7 euros if reserved in advance) but included with my reservation at Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo. I decided to book a reservation at Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo, as the price at Hotel Ala for those 3 nights was significantly higher compared to the superior room at Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo.

For those of you that have also read great reviews on both hotels on this blog, I recommend checking prices at both hotels if price factors into your decision process.

May you have safe and exceptional travel experiences in Italy and beyond.

Good to price check.

Personally, I would choose Hotel Ala because I like the location of it much better than your other choice. Location can save me a lot of time which is precious during vacations. I rarely need to ride the vaporetto when I am staying at Hotel Ala, but I would be paying for extra vaporetto tickets at the other hotel which can also be a significant cost if they’re adding up since not only daytime movement, but I like to end the day each evening over at Piazza San Marco.

We stayed at Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo two years ago and found it quite charming. We didn't splurge and our room was on the small side, but the breakfast patio was beautiful and it's close to everything.

I forgot to add in my previous post that having a more flexible cancellation policy is very important to me. Hotel Ala charges more money/night during the time period I am interested in for the ability to cancel closer to the arrival date in comparison to their non-refundable/night rate. If you have no problem with a non-refundable rate when you book your lodging reservation, and handle the risk with trip insurance coverage (with the trip insurance cost as an additional expense), then the price comparisons between the two properties will be far more comparable. Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo offers pay upon check in at hotel, with an ability to cancel your reservation if necessary up to 7 days in advance of arrival with no penalties, as their standard policy per their confirmation emails.

CAgolfgirl, we might just miss each other... We're staying at the Mocenigo in May, but will probably be leaving a day or two before you get there.

If our dates change, I'll let you know, but I think we need to be in Paris by the 25th.

I love Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo, especially the dining patio. The location was perfect for me as it was in a more quiet neighborhood, but still close to everything. Please report back and let us know if you enjoyed your stay.

I also liked Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo. When I go to Venice, I buy a vaporetto pass so the added cost associated with riding the vaporetto isn't a thing for me. I really like Venice from the water.
