I am looking for recommendations for the best area to stay in Palermo. My husband and I are traveling there next June. We do not plan on renting a car so would like to be close to transportation. Many of the reviews I have read talked about how noisy the areas are at night.

I stayed near the train station in April and it was fine.
So easy to get everywhere by train or bus.
The building was a whole renovated block on Via Paolo Balsamo, I think it was called “Palermo Blu”.
We were in the only one in the building that was privately owned, rather than by the rental company owning all the others, but I had a peek into a couple of empty ones when the doors were open for the cleaners, and they looked quite nice.
Ours was on AirBnB and it was called “Benny’s Home”, same building.
One of the best I’ve ever rented.

If it’s available, grab it now ….the terrace is outstanding.
Palermo is noisy, but this area is slightly off the tourist trail so not bad, , yet close to everything.

Thank you. I will check it out. I was found a place in the Via dell Universita area. Is anyone familiar with this area?

That looks like a good area too.
A bit noisier as it’s between the two main streets.
I would still pick Benny’s Home!
I could live on the terrace it has.
