Does anyone have upscale hotel recommendations for Florence, Italy within walking distance of the Duomo and other main sites? I'm looking for a hotel with a terrace, views, and possibly a restaurant. Budget $300-$400 per night.

Hotel Bernini Palace - our all time favorite. Walkable to everything, super nice accommodations, and also on one of the best Plazas for people watching and a great cup of DRINKING CHOCOLATE.

Hotel orto de Medici was fantastic. We stayed on the upper floor with a huge private terrace that overlooked the Duomo. Free mini bar in room was restocked daily. Room was spacious and staff were most helpful. Pretty garden where we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast each morning The hotel is near the action but far enough away to have peace and quiet. A couple evenings we sat at the table on the balcony and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, our fresh bread and anti pasta platter (which we bought at the nearby Mercado) while watching the Duomo at sunset......incredible memories...
