Hello
Is there anyone that has stayed at the Palazzo Cornalia and can offer a review? My wife and I arrive in Milan from Linate on Sat., 5/11 around noon and depart by train for Nice on Monday, 5/13 in the afternoon. The hotel It is near the train station and seems close to the metro.
We have tickets 5/11 evening for opera at La Scala, which leaves us little time to view other sights: all day/evening Sunday and early Monday. What can we see in an aggressive day and a 1/4??!!
Thanks in advance for any insights
We had a bit more time than that in Milan. We toured La Scala but didn’t see a show. It’s very close to both the Galleria shopping arcade (beautiful) and the area with the high fashion shops. And of course the Duomo - get tickets to go up on the roof. We also had lunch down in the canal area. And bought tickets right when they went on sale to see the Last Supper with the English tour. Ooh, our favorite gelato in Italy was at a small place called Ciacco.. Enjoy!
I stayed at the London Hotel in Milan in 1994. (Yes, there is a London Hotel in Milan, Italy. It's very much in the budget category, but it's quiet and near the city center: https://www.hotellondonmilano.com/en/index.php
I was only there one full day. The Duomo and Galleria were all I did.
La Scala is an excellent idea. I saw the opera in Vienna when I visited in 2015 and wonder why more people see high culture in Europe.
Is this your first trip to Milan? If so, I can't imagine going and not seeing "The Last Supper". Advanced reservations are required. I would go first thing in the morning so you have the rest of the day to sight-see. We enjoyed the Sforza Castle and museum as well.
