My wife and I are planning to spend a couple of days in Trieste prior to joining the best of the Adriatic tour in September and are looking for some hotel recommendations, preferably near the port.

A traveling companion and I stayed at the Hotel All’Arco and enjoyed it. Close to port and Centro Storico, clean, great helpful staff, good breakfast, quiet area.

In September I stayed at Hotel Solun in Trieste. Good breakfast. Convenient for walking. Located midway between port and train station. Elevator.

We liked Hotel l'Albero Nascosto not far from the city center. It was quirky and comfortable with a nice breakfast.

We also liked Hotel l'Albero Nascosto. Great location. Helpful staff. No lift, but they helped with luggage.
We also stayed on the first floor, 19 steps.
