If you want a nice sit-down meal near the Vatican with really great food go here. Facing St. Peter's exit the colonnade to the left. A short way up that street you will see a pedestrian subway, take it. as you exit, go to the corner and cross the street. You should be able to see Trattoria Vitorrio from the corner. I stayed at Residenzia Madrei Pie across the street, a convent B&B, and ate there twice. Some of the best food I ate in Italy.
