Taxi fare from FCO to Dharma Style Hotel

Can anyone share what the taxi fare should be from FCO to Dharma Style Hotel? I'm interested because bus will take over an hour.

This is the review forum, you should probably post in the Italy-forum to get more answers.

But, since the hotel is within walking distance of Roma Termini, why not just take the train?

Worth adding, the fixed rate only applies to Rome City taxis. Taxis from the Fiumicino area also will pick up at the airport, they are not obligated to stick to the fixed rate. Rome taxis will be white, with a Rome placard, usually even stating the flat rate on the placard. Go to the taxi queue, avoid all the people willing to help you skip the line on your way out.

For a bit more, you could arrange for a private transfer. Your hotel looks to be close to Termini station, the Leonardo Express goes directly there, for 14 euro per person.

Taxi will be direct, but depending on traffic, not much faster than the bus, maybe 45 to 50 minutes, the train, about the same with walking to the train, waiting for the next departure and exiting the station.

I have used the Leonardo Express, very easy, inexpensive and efficient.

Not sure where your hotel is, but taxi fare from the airport to our aparthotel near Piazza del Popolo was 40 Euros last month.

Here ya go (from Fiumicino airport's website):

https://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en/pax-fco-taxi

Dharma Style shows as being in central Rome, within the Aurelian walls, so the flat rate is € 50,00 for authorized taxis, as described by Paul and info in the link. As both buses and taxis travel by road from the airport, I don't imagine taxi will be much, if any, faster than the bus (which we've taken). The Leonardo Express train is the fastest option to Termini, and I'd consider your hotel to be walking distance from there; it's at Via del Viminale, 8, 00184 Roma, right?

We have reached the point in our travels, that convey the convenience of being delivered to our hotel door sometimes outweighs the cost. We did the bus to Central Rome and then tried to find our hotel. Not a good idea for a jet lagged traveler, or at least this one. Sometimes spending a little makes the trip easier. However, to each their own.

EDIT-- erroneous info deleted

Depending on how many are in your party the cost of a taxi may not be all that much more the Leonardo Express and a taxi delivers you to the hotel.

Total travel time ends up without any meaningful difference

Hmmm, Joe, the Trenitalia website still shows a Leonardo Express ticket as costing €14, with a mini-group fare of 4 tickets for €40, saving €16.

https://www.trenitalia.com/en/services/fiumicino_airport.html
I also looked at fares (for the next few days) on the Trenitalia ticketing page, and express tickets show as €14.

That €18 (that Joe has since helpfully edited out of his post) comes up if using this site:
https://leonardo-express.com/en/en-leonardo-express-tickets/

Shuttle bus ticketing price info on that site doesn't match the airport's info either; no way does a one-way ticket cost €11, they run closer to 6€ or 7€. It looks to be some sort of very new (almost no reviews) 3rd party site that adds a processing fee that Trenitalia doesn't, and also sells tickets to attractions. Personally? I wouldn't use it; there's no need to book a timeslotted ticket for the Express in advance, and it's risky anyway as arrival time in Rome could be delayed. Just buy whatever ticket you want - train or bus, if not using a cab - at the airport when you get there.

Edited: Joe, I saved the info and link from the 3rd-party Express site with higher ticketing prices for the benefit of other travelers who might be tempted to use that site. And we agree that a cab might be less expensive than train depending on # of travelers but may not save more time than the bus, if that's the goal :O)

For what it’s worth, we flew in to Rome a little less than 3 months ago, arriving September 22. There were red vending machines for the Leonardo Express train to Rome, just beyond the baggage claim carousels. A uniformed woman (with a vest and ID) was there to help us get our tickets easily and quickly through one of those machines. Really smooth, good price for the 2 of us, and the walk to the Express train platform was a short distance from there.

We were in Rome last month, and even though we were staying down the street from Termini Rail station, I did not want to schlepp my bag on the train and then walk down the street after our 10 hour flight. I reserved with a car service, and the driver was waiting for us after we picked up our luggage. It was so nice to settle in to the back seat of the car after our long trip, as our driver pointed our notable sites along the way. The fare was 50 euros, and when I gave another 5 for a tip, the driver's face lit up. Definitely worth the convenience and door-to-door service.

I've used the Leonardo Express many times, but with being tired after a long flight (and delays) and having to walk from the station to my hotel, I decided to use Blacklane. The cars are very nice. The driver is waiting on you when you exit. Service is impeccable. You are deposited at the door of your hotel. It's worth the extra cost for the convenience. The cost varies a bit based on the day/time, but for Sunday of this week, the charge was 73 Euros which included tip. I've used Blacklane in a number of European cities and the service has always been exceptional.
