This last April, my wife and I stayed at the Historical Suites VVM in Lecce ,Puglia. This property is a 10 minute walk from the train station and located in the heart of Lecce. The suites - both of them - are spacious and furnished with 19th century antiques. Checking in is a bit of a process since the manager determines what your sightseeing and dining preferences are and makes recommendations for restaurants, sights, etc. As an example, we told him that we enjoyed an evening cocktail (or two or ...) and he was flummoxed since he only drank wine. We saw him the next morning and he had a list of recommended cocktail bars he had researched.
Another example of exceptional guest service was when I mentioned I was going to pick up a rental car for a day trip throughout Puglia. He not only told us of a tiny medieval village we must visit, he drove us to the car rental facility.
Breakfast is a great selection of local foods and is the only meal offered.
Were it possible, I would share photos of our stay but the property website is well laid out and informative.
We paid 336 euro for four night's stay ($392/$98 per night).
