Sorrento hotel for about 3 nights in October

I planning a trip to Italy and think I want to stay about 3 nights in Sorrento. Does anyone have any recommendations? What was your favorite thing about the hotel? I won’t have a car.

Il Nido definitely deserves consideration. Villa Monica is also a great choice - it is a lovely B&B.

We stayed at Hotel Minerva overlooking the bay and loved it. The expansive balcony was delightful for a glass of wine and dancing to the evening music. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we could walk the sidewalk into town easily, at night or during the day. The staff even walked out to the street with us to show us the correct location so we could catch the bus to the port.

I was hoping to keep it around $100 per night, maybe as much as $150.

Surriento Suites at the Marina Piccola is very nice. I loved being right near the water and no car is needed. Our spacious room had a small kitchen area with a fridge and we kept wine and cheese in there. Breakfast at the restaurant on the bottom floor of the building was included and we sat practically on the small beach to enjoy it. The marina is below the town and there are 100+ steps to get up there or a 1-euro elevator ride. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Ulisse Deluxe Hostel Sorrento in 2010 as part of the Southern Italy tour. Do not let the "Hostel" in the name dissuade you. It has two parts - hostel and hotel - we stayed in the hotel portion. Close to the beach - right in the heart of everything - close to the citrus garden (lots of flavors of citrus cello for tastings). Large room and very comfortable. http://www.ulissedeluxe.com/

We also stayed at the Ulisse Deluxe and loved it. It's an easy walk in one direction to the center of town, and an easy walk in another to the beach. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and there were lots of clean, airy public spaces. And to make it all even better, our room was €80 per night! That was with the RS discount, but did not include breakfast. This was a few years ago, but I suspect it's still a bargain. If we ever return to Sorrento, that's where we're staying. Be sure to ask for the Rick Steves discount. Buon viaggio!

The Tasso Suites in the town center is nice. We stayed there in 2014 and enjoyed it. It may be a bit more than you want to pay, I checked a random 3 nights in October and it was about €430 for 3 nights which is about $500. Includes breakfast and there's a small lift. Enjoy Sorrento, it's lovely!

Hotel Il Nido Sorrento was great when we stayed in June this year. Great views of Mount Vesuvius and the sea for €119 per night with a fantastic breakfast, including a fresh squeezed orange juice you can make yourself with their machine that is simple to use. The staff are very friendly, they have a shuttle into town, or if a taxi is needed, ask them to call one for you, as they can get you a better rate. Dinners with a peaceful, fantastic sea view are delicious and very reasonable. We would go back there again when we return to Sorrento.
