Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a place to Siena. I'll be there two nights late March. My view is a hotel/B&B is more a place to lay my head at night. Just light it clean, quiet, not stuffy and prefer a private bath. Oh, and affordable but I don;t need to scrimp.
Hotel Chiusarelli, in an old villa in the city center; an easy walk down the street from the bus station, short walk to Piazza del Campo. Book on their website for a discount. Free wifi and buffet breakfast.
RC,
I enjoyed staying at Antica Residenza Cicogna B&B in October. The rooms are clean & comfortable and they have a private bathroom. The room rate included a delicious breakfast.
Emily, the owner, and her staff are very friendly and helpful.
BTW, you may want to move your post to the Italy forum where you’ll probably get more replies.
Enjoy your trip!
Thanks, will do Priscilla, want sure which was most appropriate.
Albergo Bernini was very nice, affordable, convenient to the center of town and principal sites, lovely view over the town from the rooftop terrace, nice breakfast, and Daniela and her family are wonderful and knowledgeable hosts. Some rooms have private bathrooms, and some use shared bathrooms.
Here is another good one. Very good location, quiet, private bath, really nice owner (Luciana):
B&B La Coperta Ricamata
Via Garibaldi 46, Siena
The address is on a big street, but it is set far back from the street.
RC, La Terrazza sul Campo.
Historic center, lovely hosts, nice breakfast.
In case you're not aware, you can't drive a car inside the city center. Preferred way to arrive in Siena is by bus as the station is much closer to the town center than the train which requires a long hike.
