Seafood restaurants

We'll be in Florence for 10 days. I'm looking for a great seafood restaurant in Florence. it would be a nice change after eating many delicious meals of meat and pasta. Would appreciate your recommendations!
Thank you!

Thank you! I love having suggestions from folks who have actually eaten at a restaurant rather than from a magazine recommendation. I think it may be a bit more reliable.

Florence being inland , I see it similarly to looking for seafood in Des Moines, IA.

Pretty easy to run the mag suggestions through TA, and see what's happening - a thousand reviews vs 1 opinion.

Safe Travels !

While it's true that Florence is inland, it's not that far from the sea. And great seafood restaurants aren't necessarily found just by the seaside -- they are also in cities with good transportation links to get the product very fresh and that have a big enough population of culinarily knowledgeable, affluent people who want top quality to support them -- Madrid, Paris, London for example. I'm not sure I'd put Florence quite in that league for seafood but that article says they are getting there so I'm sure you can find something good.

You may well find inland restaurants serving seafood, especially farmed. I checked the menu of the one restaurant in Florence I remember the name of (La Giostra), and they offer Branzino (farmed sea bass) and a prawn dish among the secondi.

As Slate mentions, Florence is pretty close to the sea, compared to, say, Denver. We had outstanding seafood dishes at Burro & Acciughe on the west (Oltrarno) side of the Arno river on our trip a year and a half ago. https://www.burroeacciughe.com/en/

P.S. They’re a 4-minute walk from a superior Gelato place at the edge of a park, La Sorbettiera https://www.lasorbettiera.it/
