Rome Restaurant -- Restorante der Pallaro

Restorante der Pallaro -- WONDERFUL -- Just off Campo de Flori (a must see) Largo del pallaro, 15 06.68801488 -- S Andrea della Valle. We eat here each trip (learned about it from Rick) and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Price Fixed at 25 Euro/person. NO MENU! You eat what Mama (Paola Fazi) cooked.

You sit down and they start bringing food and drinks. Bottles of water and jugs of wine come to the table. If you run out, they bring more. I served a close approximation of the antipasti course as DINNER last night -- lentil salad, tomato and FRESH mozzarella, brochette, and prosciutto . Mama follows it with a pasta course, a meat course, a salad and desert with an aperitif . Dinner takes a while. It is an event.

We ate there twice at the end of June. One night the secundo was veal and the other it was beef. The pasta changed, too. Rome dinner prices are steep! Here we found great food and a fun atmosphere and reasonable prices. We had pizza one night for almost the same price. No salad, no vegetables, no...

I would kill for her lentil and green bean receipts .

Suggest you make reservation, it gets quite crowded and have noted people leaving because no tables were readily available.

We ate early (7:00) and did not have reservations. Americans traveling with children need to accommodate the kids schedule. As we ate, more and more folks arrived and by the time we left there was a line. I would get confirmation that they are open on Christmas Day. Because it is a family business it might not be open. We were in London on Boxing day about ten years ago and about starved to death! We FINALLY found an open convenience store and dined on apples, chips, peanuts, cheerios and milk. :)
