Rome Hotel near Vatican

Hi All,
I will be in Rome for 2 nights at the beginning of April 2025. Looking for a hotel in the Prati area. For this trip, I’m focused just on visiting St. Peter’s. I know it’s the Jubilee year and want to make my reservations as soon as possible.
Thank you!

Just completed the RS Best of Europe tour & we stayed at Hotel Museum bottom of the Steps from entry to Vatican Museum.
It was adequate, small rooms though.

We stated at Hotel Isa on Via Cicerone 1.5 years ago and it was great. Lovely breakfasts and close to lots of good restaurants. This was our second time staying in the Prati area and we very much enjoyed it.

Are you stuck on Prati (ie north of Vatican)? If willing to consider the area south of the Vatican, we really enjoyed the Casa per Ferie Santa Maria alle Fornaci (https://www.santamariaallefornaci.it/en/). Its got a convent dormitory vibe (it is in fact operated by a convent), but it is very much a guest house. You walk out the front door, turn left, and you can see St Peter's is right there (5 min walk). The area around has a nice neighbourhood vibe with some good restaurants. There is a train station nearby (Roma San Pietro) and good connections by bus (although not by metro; if you need that, Prati is better served).

We have stayed at Hotel Museum three times and highly recommend it. Our experience has been that they have a great breakfast-may involve an additional charge.

I have stayed many times at the Santa Maria-great neighborhood and less than10 minutes to St Peter's. Also, since you want to see the church, be aware that it opens at 0700 and the barriers don't go up for a couple of hours so you are free to roam the entire Church with hardly anyone there.

I have stayed at Hotel Sant'Anna several times and love it. Really good breakfast, too. It's in the Borgo, though, not Prati. Address is Borgo Pio 134. It is super close to The Vatican. If you stay here, make sure to eat at Tre Pupazzi at the end of Borgo Pio...so delicious!

We will be in Rome at the beginning of April as well and have the same thing in mind - going to St. Peter's etc. and are planning ahead due to Jubilee year, etc. We booked the Hotel Museum as others have spoken about here. It also was listed in Rick Steve's Italy book as a recommended place to stay near the Vatican. Breakfast and everything looked good. We also noticed they have transportation to/from the airport for an added fee. We figured it would be worth it so we booked that as well.
