Rome Hotel for family of 4

We are a family of four adults. My husband and I with two adult sons. They each need their own bed. Can someone recommend a hotel that will have two bedrooms - one double and two twins. Or is it best to reserve two hotel rooms? This will be for Sept 2024. Hoping to be near restaurants, city center, etc. Not looking for a remote location. Thank you. wanting to stay within price range of under $400/night .

Try Incentrum. They are an aparthotel with a variety of apartment types. My husband and I stayed in one of their suites in 2021 and liked it very much. The location was excellent (not far from the Spanish Steps).

We found Hotel Smeraldo a great location for walking to sites. We had 2 young families with us. I booked 2 apartment style family rooms….that provided beds for one family of 4 and one for 5. Wonderful…even had 2 baths and kitchen. Wonderful charming…great breakfast. Our favorite place they all say!

Just ask if they have a family room and how the family room is set up. We have had four single beds in a family room several times or a double and two singles. There really isn't a standard room set up.

We are traveling to Rome with our two adult children in 2024 as well. We are staying at The Beehive and then at the Roman Terrace during out time in the city (at the beginning and end of our trips). We're pretty budget travelers when it comes to hotels -- as long as they are clean and safe we don't need many amenities. It's difficult to not brake the bank on lodging, isn't it?

In 2022, we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Globus Viale Ippocrate 119. We had our two grown children (20 and 22 at the time) and a friend also 22, on the bed/sofa.
It was comfortable, albeit a little cozy; we were there for 4 nights, and given the same circumstances, we would stay there again. The hotel had a good breakfast and the rooms had air con. There is a tram stop right there, and a subway station nearby. We walked or took the bus to the train station.
Granted it was 2 years ago, right before Europe exploded with reopening post COVID, but our rooms were $200/night.

If this is an option, I would price shop between direct reservation with Best Western and booking.com. If you use booking.com there may be a better deal if you book via the app. The app typically gives a better price.

Unless you really need the amenities a hotel provides, you might do better with an apartment. We. have used booking.com to find apartments in Europe. Not only are they often less expensive than hotels, but you have multiple rooms to spread out, a kitchen, many have washing machines. Being able to store food in the fridge and have a meal in the room can save money and improve things considerably (who wants to eat out every single meal? Leftovers? etc.)

booking.com has many apartments, you can do a search for your dates. There are probably other places you can also look for apartments, but booking.com is the one I have used most.

Good luck! And have a blast, planning a trip can be exciting.
