Rome: Anyone stayed at Happy Sleeping?

Hello, After visiting Palermo and Sorrento and finding very reasonable rates for great rooms, my attempt to do the same in Rome is proving difficult. I contacted the B&B Association of Rome and they've been very attentive and tried to be helpful, but haven't found me anything i want to stay in. (I also paid them a large deposit which I'm afraid may be non-refundable. Rome is definitely not the mezzogiorno...)

I finally found a place called Happy Sleeping which has gotten 3 very positive reviews on another travel site - but there are no other reviews that I can find. I was wondering if anyone on Rick Steves' site might have stayed there, and whether or not they've had a positive experience?

Thank you, any feedback is appreciated,

Tom

We lived in Rome but never heard of Happy Sleeping. I can recommend a great guesthouse to you though that has great hosts- Vincent and Barbara- who will go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. It is called Arena Guest House Roma Colosseo which is very centrally located near sights like the Colosseum, near transportation, has restaurants and shops near, is close to a grocery store, has private baths to each guestroom, comfy beds, a mini fridge in your room (they put cold drinks to welcome you), wi-fi, a computer you can use, tv, air conditioning, and breakfast served in the hotel that is in the same building. It is reasonably priced. Their phone is 011 39 06 9480 1504 and their email is arenahouse2015@gmail.com You can probably find reviews for it online. It is located at Via Marco Aurelio 37 in Rome.

Happy Sleeping ( strange name) looks great and is dead cheap. If you are considering it I doubt the 5 star place recommended above would be your cup of tea. The contrast couldn't be greater.

Tom: Try the Hotel Aberdeen. We were there just this past spring - our second stay there - and the rates were reasonable, under 100 euro per night. In fact, we paid 68 euro, but that may have been an off-season rate. The hotel is within walking distance of Termini and most of the major sights. It is clean, quiet, the staff is very helpful, and the breakfast was good. It is in the RS Rome and Italy books, but the rate we were offered was cheaper than that quoted in the books. (And cheaper than the mid-range hotel we had just stayed at in Palermo, and cheaper than the hostel we stayed at in Sorrento last year.) It would be worth your time to check it out. Highly recommended.

I just want to thank everyone for their recommendations. As you may have gathered, I am not exactly independently wealthy :) So, anything that's clean, quiet, and under 100 euros is perfect for me. I was hoping to hear from someone who had stayed at Happy Sleeping, but I guess it's just not that well-known, which may be fine. Guess I have some decision-making to do!
