After I boarded my train for Sorrento I realized my wallet was missing. I arrived in Sorrento with no reservations,no cash, and no credit card. Fortunately I found Hotel Il Faro, Marina Picola #5 Sorrento. They gave me a water view room and invited me to eat in their excellent restaurant, Vela Bianca. It took 50 hours for visa to replace my stolen card. Many thanks to the hotel staff,the restaurant staff and the owner for turning a bad experience into an enjoyable one. I hope to return.

Thanks for sharing your experience and congratulations to Hotel Il Faro! The majority of people you meet will be honest and helpful, with just a few choosing a life of crime. While you do need supplies for the day in your wallet, we encourage everyone who reads this to keep back-up cash and credit cards in deeper storage, such as a money belt.
