Rick lists Ristorante Luca for eating in Vernazza, Harborside in the November, 2022 Italy guide book.
My wife and I ate there about 2 hours ago on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. We got there about 12:30 to eat [they opened at 12:00].
We had the mixed grilled seafood plate [25 euro] and while it was eatable, I have had better in local dives for half that price.
the calamari and the muscles were NOT fresh but very chewy and tough. This is one of my favorite dishes and I had it twice before on this same trip and for 12-14 euro.
The three young waiters were very pleasant and helpful, but the older man who served us was curt and rude.
Perhaps Rick might rethink this recommendation before the next guide book.
I always try to eat at Rick's choices and this is probably the first time we got a bad meal.
We have been traveling with Rick"s guide books since 1992 when we purchased 21 days in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at the airport. We used it entirely on our 14 day trip and have been "hooked on Rick" ever since.
