Any suggestions for lunch and or dinner in Oritigia. A past post suggested Ristorante Giove but my husband and I will be there on a Wednesday night. That resturant is closed on Wednesdays.

Avoid any restaurant whose name starts with “Don”, as we had the worst restaurant experience
as far as how we were treated and the food itself was sub par!
When you arrive at a restaurant with a reservation and the maitre’d starts screaming at you, it is all downhill from there!
FYI: It is spelled Ortigia.
We were there for a week and didn’t want to leave.

We had a fantastic lunch at Dave Sicilian Taste, on Via della Giudecca. Lovely setting and the food was absolutely first rate. Not inexpensive, but we felt it was a good value.
Our best dinner was at Cortile Spirito Santo. Upscale, with an inventive menu. We didn't opt for the tasting menu, as we thought it would be too much food, but between the amuse bouche and a few other treats (like pre-dessert), we were very satisfied. Pricey, but we thought it was worth it. This was our favorite meal of our 19 nights in Sicily.

We really liked "A Putia Delle Cose Buone".
Their website says that they are closed on Tuesdays and they do not take reservations.
