Hi -- Will be in Bologna for a few days in October, first visit. Can anyone recommend restaurants to try? Not looking for anything fancy or high priced. Mostly interested in smaller places that offer good examples of the local cuisine and that aren't too touristy. Thanks for all advice!
Bologna may have the best food in all of Italy. Suggest looking at Chowhound.com or another online site for local restaurants. Every time I research restaurants, they're either too expensive or I don't care for the menu. We've found it better to wait until getting there and asking the hotel desk clerks and locals where to eat.
A very good family owned and run restaurant in Bologna is Da Cesari on Via de’ Carbonesi. We enjoyed everything we ordered.
Thanks for the advice! I will look into Da Cesari and also check out the Chowhound blog.
A second vote for Da Cesari!
