In Palermo for three nights starting Sunday, May 31. Does anyone have a restaurant recommendation in the area of the Via Roma/Via Vittorio Emanuelle intersection (10-15 minute walk is fine) - really looking for a great pasta/seafood combination. Thanks.
Hi, Ray. There's a tiny little street that runs north of the Archeological museum, I think the name of the street is Bara all'Olivella. There are several places to eat here; we've eaten twice (different trips) at a place called "La Cova di Sapori." Or "Alcova di Sapori"; I have it written down both ways in my notes. It's very tiny; the last time we were there the weather wasn't conducive to outdoor eating, so we squeezed into one of three tables inside. Very good grilled sea bass, good enormous seafood risotto. The host Giuseppe speaks English, but he's not always there. The house wine is not so great, but that's fairly typical in Palermo. Take the host's recommendation on what to order. The first time we were there he told us he goes down to the docks himself every morning to select the fish and seafood.
