Restaurant app's for Rome, Florence and Venice

Recently returned from a 2 1/2 week trip to Italy - Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan. Used Elizabeth Minchilli's "Eat Rome", Eat Florence" and "Eat Venice" apps (available in the ITunes app store). Every restaurant we tried from the app (and gelato shops!!) was fabulous - highly recommend these apps - easy to use (no need for wifi) and a great selection of restaurants - both by geography and taste/budget.

We've been to all three cities..Rome, Florence and Venice. We are two 50-something women whose husbands hate to travel. Our experience is that the best food to be had is in the sidewalk casual restaurants. In Florence, for example, one of our best meals was in the Santa Croce Piazza, a place that advertised a piece of Lasagna and a glass of wine for 7 Euro....we were dubious, but hungry. The wine was good, the lasagna generous and delicious...so, no need to preplan, just see what comes up, we never had a bad meal...

I have also used her Florence app... excellent - but needs UPDATING. I've been to Florence countless times in the last 60 years... twice in the last 12 months... and the food scene continues to EXPLODE with great new places.

Thanks for the food app info. I have been to Italy twice and have had the most horrific, nasty, touristy food in the tourist piazzas in Rome, Florence, Siena and Venice (even food poisoning in Florence). No matter where I travel in the world, my best meals were usually researched in advance or were recommended as local dining spots by either shop owners or a trusted hotel staff member. Unfortunately, I don't always luck into a good recommendation and it is great to have an alternate source. Thanks again!!
