Beware fellow travelers, returning a rental car at Termini Station is a bit tricky. First, most if not all rental car companies give you an address for your GPS, but this will get you to the Termini Station itself, not the actual return location. Given the fact that you’re driving into one of the busiest and most congested parts of Rome, you need accurate info. The address to put into your GPS is via Marsala, 55. This will get you to the back side of Termini Station. Drive along until you see the blue P for parking and enter the garage and head up one level. You will see signs for most of the rental car companies, except for Sixt. They are there, but have NO signage. Look for a person in an orange colored shirt and you have reached your destination. That's one reason many return their Hertz rental cars across the street from the Orvieto train station.
The local train is just 70 minutes into Rome Termini.
