Recommending hotels in Florence, Venice and Rome

We found each of the following places a wonderful refuge during our 2 week vacation 2/26 - 3/12 2016.
Travel in late winter to Italy was cool and rainy, but lower on tourists and crowds.

Venice: Hotel Aglo Alboretti near the Accademia was very convenient, in a non-crowded area of Venice. Small, clean, private, and quiet. A wonderful, healthy breakfast comes included. Not a R Steves recommendation, but could be. It was great!

Florence: Bellevue House, near Piazza Santa Maria Novella and train station: What a find. It's an oasis of quiet, warmth, and
calm on a busy street. Luciano, Susan, and Alex could not have been more helpful and solid! It's our second stay there,
and will be again. All food recommendations from Alex were outstanding! He knows his city. I can still taste those desserts!

Rome: The Nicholas Inn, on Via Cavour, was wonderful. A small hotel, 3 rooms, it was clean, homey and quiet, though
on one of Rome's main streets. Very close to Colosseum, forum, etc. Easy access to everywhere. Loreto, our host, was most helpful with directions, food, good breakfast included, et cetera. We will stay there again when we hopefully return!

Best Rome Map I found was National Geographics!
Bon viage!
