Recommendations for Rome hotels that offer 2 queen or double beds in one suite?

I'll be traveling in June with my family of 4 on our first trip to Rome, and am looking for a hotel that offers two queen or double beds, rather than a bed and a sleeper sofa. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Try using Booking.com.

Your initial search can include the number of adults and kids. You'll need to list the ages of the kids. Obviously, I may be making a false assumption that the family includes kids.

You may find some hotels with rooms with beds for 4 (5? 6?). An apartment might be better bet for your group. Booking.com also lists apartments. That's what I used to find the apartment I rented in Rome for 6 nights in June, 2017.

Do not make the mistake of assuming that a room or suite with two double or queen beds will accommodate 4 people, whether adults or children. Hotel rooms across Europe are booked by the number of people (adults plus children), not the number of beds. You need to search for a family room for four. Most likely it will have one large bed ( for 2) and two single beds.

If you have young children ( under 6) they may be permitted in the parent’s bed for free, but this varies by country and hotel. Children 6-12 or maybe 15 maybe accommodated at a reduced rate. Kids 16 and up are generally adults at full price.

From a previous post back in 2016, it looks to me like your offspring will be around 17 and 20 when you take this trip so if they're the "family" traveling with you, you're essentially looking at 4 adults to a room. You'll need a family room which is listed as being able to accommodate 4 persons, or an apartment - which would probably be more comfortable for that many adults/nearly adults.

As previously suggested, take a look on booking.com? That site, which I've used quite a lot, allows you to narrow your search by number of people, per-night budget, etc.

Check out the hotel IQRoma. We stayed there this past June with a family of 4. The room we had was large and had 4 single beds to accommodate 4 people. We found the hotel to be very good, had washing machines/dryers you can pay to use, a very good restaurant that was reasonably priced and had a good location. The staff was all very nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on future visits to Rome. Enjoy your trip.
